USDA Multicultural Fellowships

The Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont is a multidisciplinary academic unit that strives to integrate across the disciplines to create knowledge and develop solutions to a broad array of environmental issues. Fellows will pursue research on any of a range of topics related to healthy forested ecosystems in Vermont and elsewhere. 

Master's Program

Benefits

The fellowship will provide:
1) Full tuition for the two-year program ($34,860)
2) Two years of health insurance ($3,792)
3) A stipend of $36,000 for two-year program ($18,000/year)

Eligibility

To be eligible for the fellowships, multicultural* candidates should be citizens or nationals of the United States as determined in accordance with Federal Law. Candidates should not have completed two semesters or equivalent hours of full-time graduate study or been previously enrolled in an academic program at the master’s degree level. Ph.D. Program

Benefits

The fellowship will provide:
1) Full tuition for three years (approx. $52,300)
2) Three years of health insurance (approx. $5,700)
3) A stipend of $73,500 for three-year program ($24,500/year)

Eligibility

To be eligible for the fellowships, multicultural* candidates should be citizens or nationals of the United States as determined in accordance with Federal Law, have, or be near completion of an MS degree in a related field.
