Dr. Richard Cruz Dávila joined JSRI as a researcher in August of 2017. He completed his PhD in Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario in 2016. His current book project traces the evolution of Texas-Mexican music in Michigan and the Midwest as a by-product of Tejanx labor migration. He is a member the Preserving Nuestra Historia project, a collaborative effort among academic, public, and grassroots organizations to preserve Michigan's Latinx history for communities, researchers, and future generations.
