Latino Economic Development Initiative

The Michigan State University (MSU) Julian Samora Research Institute and the MSU Center for Community and Economic Development, through its EDA University Center for Regional Economic Innovation (REI), recently joined forces to launch a new program titled the MSU Latino Economic Development Initiative (LEDI). This initiative is designed to identify and create new economic development tools, models, policies and practices to support Latino and Hispanic-owned businesses in Michigan. The LEDI Team began in January 2015 by engaging Latino and Hispanic business support organizations across Michigan in the development of a major survey to identify any challenges current and emerging Latino business owners may be facing and to find out the types of support, services or resources these businesses may or may not be accessing or receiving to address those challenges.
